Juried Competition Rules

Below are the rules for entering any Fusion Art juried competitions. Please read them carefully as you will be required to agree to them, in addition to Fusion Art's Terms of Service & Use and Privacy Policy, prior to submitting. Some competitions guidelines will vary from the below so please read each competition's details carefully before submitting. If you have any questions about the competition or the application process, please feel free to contact us at info@fusionartps.com 

Eligibility 

  • All Fusion Art competitions are open to artists worldwide over the age of 18.
  • Entries must follow the competition theme. 
  • Work must be the original creation of the artist and completed within the past 5 years.
  • Digital Art that is a derivative work, created from another original  artwork, must be significantly different as to constitute a new original  work. The gallery reserves the right to request a copy of the original  artwork if copyright infringement is suspected.   Entry fees are not refundable. 
  • Although nude art is acceptable in Fusion Art art competitions, it must be in good taste. Graphic erotic art and art that depicts graphic sexual violence is not acceptable.  Acceptance into Fusion Art exhibitions is not guaranteed and is solely at the discretion of the gallery. Entry fees are not refundable.
  • There are no size limitations or any of Fusion Art's competitions.
  • Artwork does not have to be for sale to be entered into the competition.
  • All 3D entries require front, back and side views for it to be considered and properly juried. There is no additional fee for these additional images. Please see entry form for instructions.
  • You may submit the same artwork in different competitions, as long as it follows the competition theme, unless it has won previously.
  • You may enter works of art that have won art competition awards in other shows.

Images

  • Image should be in JPG format, 72 dpi, highest compression quality of 12.
  • Image should not exceed 5MB.
  • Image should not contain any frame, mat, or watermark.
  • IMAGE LABELING GUIDELINES: Image should be labeled as FirstName_Lastname_Title.jpeg (Example: John_Smith_Untitled.jpg). Do not include special characters such as #,!, * or stray spaces in the file name.  Doing so may prevent the file from uploading.
  • Image should be clear and in focus. Please remember that this image represents your work.
  • Fusion Art may crop or color correct your images in order to enhance the overall presentation and/or for formatting purposes for use on the website, Fusion Art presentations and marketing materials, and for other areas where your images may appear.

Selection and Awards

  • Best in Show will be awarded to one artist in each category - Traditional, Digital & Photography and 3-Dimensional (if the gallery receives 3D entries). 2nd through 5th Place awards in each category will also be given.
  • The Best in Show winners from the monthly exhibitions will be the "Featured Artists" on the website for the duration of the exhibition. 
  • Depending on the number and quality of all submissions received, Artistic Excellence and/or Honorable Mention awards may also be given.
  • All award winning artists will receive a digital award certificate, event announcement and copy of the press release for their art portfolio.
  • Fusion Art's objective is to promote the artists, worldwide, to art professionals, gallerists, collectors and buyers.
  • Links to the artist's website will be listed on the exhibition page and should result in increased traffic to the artist's website.

Entry Fees 

  • A nonrefundable entry fee of $25 for 1-2 images. 
  • A nonrefundable entry fee of $40 for up to 5 images (average of $8 per image).
  • Entry Fees for the Featured Artist Membership and the Grant for Artistic Excellence differ from the above so see these individual prospectuses for details. 
  • Artists may enter the  competition more than once if they have more than 5 works they want to be considered. Artists are encouraged to enter the maximum number of images allowable for the entry fee. All images entered are not guaranteed to be accepted.
  • Payment is required through Submittable at the time of entry.
  • Entry fees are inclusive of New Mexico Gross Receipts Tax, if applicable.
  • ENTRY FEES ARE NOT REFUNDABLE.

Artist Statement/Bio

When submitting your entries, we ask that you provide a short bio or artist statement (100 Word Limit), written in the third person. Tell us a little bit about yourself: your artistic training, your artistic inspiration, media choice, any special techniques used, any prior exhibitions… anything that you might like our patrons and visitors to know about you.

NOTE: While a required field on the entry form, artist biographies and/or artist statements are no longer included in the final evaluation and for our choices for the top exhibition selections. The exception to this rule is the Featured Artist Membership which is designed to encourage artist to refine their bios and statements as part of their portfolio preparation.

Sales

Fusion Art does not engage directly in selling the artwork featured in any of its online exhibitions on the Fusion Art website.  Fusion Art does not represent artists in the online exhibitions on its website. All inquiries from potential buyers who see the artwork on the Fusion Art website will be directed to the artist for negotiation.  

For sales that occur during the Group Show, Fusion Art will take the standard industry 50% commission on any sale.

Email Subscription

By submitting artwork to Fusion Art, the Artists understand and agree that they are “opting in” and will be placed on our email list and will receive future email announcements and email notices from us. If you want to be removed from this email list, please click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email and we will remove you immediately from all future emails.

Policies

Artists who submit an entry and images to Fusion Art must agree to the terms and conditions of this prospectus. In addition to the criteria mentioned in the previous sections, the following policies apply:

  • Submissions received after the posted deadline will not be considered.
  • Once a submission is made, no  image substitutions may be made. Additional entries can be submitted by returning to Submittable and entering the competition again.
  • All work must remain in the  online exhibition for the entire duration of the exhibition. No early withdrawals will be permitted.
  • Fusion Art reserves the right to cancel an exhibition, extend deadlines, or change exhibition dates. In the event of an exhibition cancellation, entry fees that have been paid will be refunded.
  • By submitting work to be  considered for the exhibition, artists grant Fusion Art a non-exclusive perpetual license to reproduce the images of their artwork on our website, in the marketing of any art competitions including, but not limited to, on the gallery’s social media network outlets, and to advertise the annual group exhibition. Fusion Art is granted usage of the chosen artwork, for display, marketing and promotional purposes for that art exhibition and for any future Fusion Art themed art competitions and exhibitions - either online or in the annual group show.  
  • The artist agrees that Fusion Art can maintain an archive of the chosen artwork for posterity as part of  a historical site record of past exhibitions. 
  • Artists should read the website's Terms of Service & Use page. By entering into any art competition conducted by Fusion Art, the artist is automatically agreeing to the Terms of Service & Use, Privacy Policy and the Competition Rules.

Fusion Art invites submissions for the Everything Abstract 2024 (formerly Colorful Abstractions) art competition for an online exhibition during the month of December 2024. This is the 11th annual abstracts competition the gallery has run.

For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best nonobjective or nonrepresentational art using any subject matter and any media. All artists, regardless of location or experience, are encouraged to submit their best abstract art and photography.

The deadline to enter this competition is December 1, 2024. 

Acceptable Mediums & Sizes

Fusion  Art invites submissions for the Urban Landscapes 2025 Art Competition  for an online exhibition during the month of January 2025.

For  this competition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to  submit their best art depicting cityscapes – cities, towns, urban scenes  and/or any related metropolitan subjects. All artists, regardless of  location or experience, are invited to submit their best  representational and/or abstract art and photography. This is the 9th  annual cityscapes art competition that the gallery has held.

For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best art and photography using black & white & the nuanced shades in between. Any subject matter and any media are acceptable for this competition. The artwork can range from realism to surrealism to abstraction and artists, regardless of location or experience, are encouraged to submit their best representational and/or nonrepresentational art and photography.

Fusion Art invites submissions for its 30th Quarterly Art Competition – the 6th Into the Wild Online Art Competition 2025.

For  this art competition, 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are encouraged to  submit their best work depicting wildlife. The wildlife theme includes  any undomesticated animal species including any wild mammal, wild fish,  wild bird or wild reptile.

The  artwork can range from realism to surrealism to abstraction and all  artists, regardless of location or experience, are encouraged to submit  their best representational or abstract wildlife art and photography.

A three-month group online exhibition will be featured on the Fusion Art website starting February 15, 2025.

Fusion Art is thrilled to offer a Fusion Art Featured Artist Membership program.
This non-exclusive, curated Featured Artist Membership will give artists an opportunity to receive ongoing promotion all year long.
The goal of this new Fusion Artist Membership is to provide even more promotion opportunities for emerging, mid-career and professional artists.

Application Fee:

  • There is a $45 application fee, which will be applied to the first year’s membership fee if accepted.
  • Artists are encouraged to enter the maximum number of images allowable for the application fee so as to show they have an overall cohesive body of work. 
  • Payment is required at the time of entry.
  • Application fees are inclusive of New Mexico Gross Receipts Tax.
  • If artists do not follow the application rules, for example they do not have a qualified website to jury, but still apply, the entire $45 application fee is not refundable. There are no exceptions to this rule.
  • Entrance does not guarantee acceptance.
