Juried Competition Rules

Below are the rules for entering any Fusion Art Juried Competition. Please read them carefully as you will be required to agree to them, in addition to Fusion Art's Terms of Service & Use and Privacy Policy, prior to submitting. Each month's competition will have a different theme so be sure you are entering the right competition before you submit. Some competitions guidelines will vary from the below so please read each competition's details carefully before submitting. Eligibility
  • Open to artists worldwide.
  • Must be 18 years or older to enter.
  • Entries must follow the competition theme.
  • Work must be the original creation of the artist and completed within the past 5 years.
  • Mediums and size limitations vary per competition. Please see each competition’s specific guidelines for details.
  • You may submit the same artwork in different competitions, as long as it follows the competition theme, unless it has won previously.
  • You may enter works of art that have won art competition awards in other shows.
  • For the monthly competitions all Best in Show winners will be invited to show his/her artwork in the annual show to take place in Palm Springs, California, each November. This group show is entirely voluntary and the artist is not required to accept the invitation. However, if the artist does accept the invitation the artist agrees to send the artwork (or if the artwork has been sold, have the collector send the artwork) for the exhibition.  Although highly encouraged, the artist does not have to be present at the annual group show. The artist is responsible for shipping of the artwork to and from the exhibition in Palm Springs.

 Images

  • Image should not exceed 3MB.
  • Image should be in jpeg format, 72 dpi.
  • Image should not contain any frame, mat, or watermark.
  • NEW IMAGE LABELING:  Image should be labeled as Title_FirstName_LastName.jpeg Example: Untitled_John_Smith.jpg.  Do not include special characters such as #,!, * or stray spaces in the file name.  Doing so may prevent the file from uploading.
  • Image should be clear and in focus. Please remember that this image represents your work.
  • Fusion Art may crop or color correct your images in order to enhance the overall presentation and/or for formatting purposes for use in the slide show, image gallery, YouTube videos, Fusion Art presentations and marketing materials, and for other areas of the website where your images may appear.

 Selection and Awards

  • Selections will be made by Fusion Art Owner and Artist, Chris Hoffman, and/or invited guest jurors who are prominent in the art world, including other artists and art professionals.
  • Artwork will be judged based on the following criteria: creativity, originality, interpretation, quality, overall design, demonstration of artistic ability, and usage of your chosen medium.
  • All selected images will appear in our online exhibition for approximately one month. Then it will be archived on the site. 
  • The submission of entries/images does not guarantee you will be selected for participation in the online exhibition
  • The Best in Show winners will be the "Featured Artists" on the website for the duration of the exhibition. The Best in Show winners will also be invited to participate in Fusion Art's annual show in Palm Springs, CA in November of each year, which will feature the Best in Show winners from the previous 12 months of online exhibitions.
  • Award winners and every artist whose artwork is chosen for that month’s art exhibition will be notified by email by the opening of the online exhibition. 
  • Cash awards will be paid through PayPal within 20 days of the notification of winning.
  • VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW

Entry Fees

  • A non-refundable entry fee of $25 is required for up to 2 images. 
  • Additional images may be submitted for a non-refundable fee of $10 each. 
  • No more than a total of 5 images (2 for $25, and 3 for $10/ea.) will be accepted per entry. An artist may enter the competition more than once.
  • Please ensure you are choosing the correct entry fee for the number of images you are entering.
  • Payment is required at the time of entry.
  • Entry fees are NOT refundable.
  • Certain special and quarterly competitions will have entry fees that differ from the above so please see each competition's specific guidelines for details.

Submission Deadline

Please refer to the Fusion Art website and/or the submission guidelines for each month's competition submission deadline.

Artist Statement/Bio

It is now required that the artist provide a short Bio or Artist Statement (1000 Word Limit), written in the third person.  This is your opportunity to tell us a little bit about yourself, including your artistic training, inspiration, media choice, or anything that you might like people to know about you and your art. If you have a website, please include your website URL and/or email address. Please note that any statements/bios that exceed the word limit or are poorly written will be edited. 

Sales

Fusion Art does not engage directly in selling the artwork featured in any of its monthly online exhibitions.  Fusion Art does not represent the artists selected in the online competitions. All purchase inquiries from the monthly online art exhibitions are directed to the artist for negotiation with the collector/buyer.

While Fusion Art does not collect a commission from sales initiated from the website’s online exhibitions, for sales that occur during the annual group show or any physical show in the Palm Springs gallery, Fusion Art will take the standard industry 50% commission on any sale.

Email Subscription

By submitting artwork to Fusion Art, the Artists understand and agree that they are opting in” and will be placed on our email list and will receive future email announcements and email notices from us.  If you want to be removed from this email list, please click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email and we will remove you immediately from all future emails.

Policies

Artists who submit an entry and images to Fusion Art must agree to the terms and conditions of this prospectus.  In addition to the criteria mentioned in the previous sections, the following policies apply:

  • Submissions received after the posted deadline will not be considered.
  • Once a submission is made, no image substitutions may be made.  Additional entries can be submitted by returning to Submittable and entering the competition again.
  • All work must remain in the online exhibition for the entire duration of the exhibition.  No early withdrawals will be permitted.
  • Fusion Art reserves the right to cancel an exhibition, extend deadlines, or change exhibition dates.  In the event of an exhibition cancellation, entry fees that have been paid will be refunded.
  • By submitting work to be considered for the exhibition, artists grant Fusion Art a non-exclusive perpetual license to reproduce the images of their artwork on our website, in the marketing of any art competitions including, but not limited to, on the gallery’s social media network outlets, and to advertise the annual group exhibition that will take place in Palm Springs, CA each November. Fusion Art is granted usage of the chosen artwork, for display, marketing and promotional purposes for that art exhibition and for any future Fusion Art themed art competitions and exhibitions - either online or in the Palm Springs gallery. Usage of the image(s) is limited to any Fusion Art publicity including, but not limited to, ads, marketing materials, press releases, event presentations, articles, compilation slide shows and videos, brochures, catalogs, posters, event mailers, and for use on the Fusion Art website and in the gallery.
  • The artist agrees that Fusion Art can maintain an archive of the chosen artwork for posterity as part of a historical site record of past exhibitions. This archive will be available only on the Fusion Art website. Fusion Art will provide credit for each image with their Artist Name, Title and the Artist Email/Website, if applicable. The artist shall retain all copyrights of any images that are submitted to Fusion Art.
  • No resale or exchange of images will occur by Fusion Art and no images may be copied or downloaded from the Fusion Art website. Fusion Art does not claim ownership of the artwork you submit for consideration. All images attached to the Fusion Art website are the property of the respective artist and the artist retains the sole copyright and all other applicable rights to said images.
  • Artists should read the website's Terms of Service & Use page. By entering into any art competition conducted by Fusion Art, the artist is automatically agreeing to the Terms of Service & Use, Privacy Policy and the Competition Rules.
These rules may be updated from time to time so please be sure to read them before you agree to them.

Fusion Art invites submissions for its 2nd quarterly group online exhibition. The theme for the exhibition is Open.

For this, no theme, open competition, artists and photographers, worldwide, are encouraged to submit their best  work in any subject matter using any of the accepted mediums. The work can range from realism to surrealism to abstraction and all artists and photographers, regardless of location or experience, were encouraged to submit.

Up to five winners in each category (Traditional Art, Digital Art & Photography, and 3-Dimensional Art) will be chosen to participate in the online group exhibition. Entrants are encouraged to enter multiple images as the group exhibition will highlight the accepted artists and provide an opportunity to showcase a small body of their work. All images entered are not guaranteed to be accepted. The exhibition will be presented on a separate page on the website and will remain up for three months before being archived on the site.  

The winners will be marketed and promoted extensively through Fusion Art’s website, in 70+ press release announcements, email marketing, online event calendars, art news websites and through the gallery’s social media outlets.

 Entry Fees

  • A nonrefundable entry fee of $45 for up to 5 images.
  • Artists may enter the competition more than once if they have more than 5 works they want to be considered.
  • Artists are encouraged to enter the maximum number of images allowable for the entry fee so that a body of their work can be considered.
  • ENTRY FEES ARE NOT REFUNDABLE
  • Payment is required at the time of entry.

 Acceptable Mediums & Sizes

  • "Traditional" is open to the following 2D media:  painting, drawing, pastels, inks, pencil, encaustic, and mixed media.
  • "Photography & Digital" is open to the following media: analog photography, digital photography, digital photo artwork, digital painting, digital manipulations, digital collage, photopainting, vector drawing, digital mixed media (integrated art).
  • "3-Dimensional" Art is acceptable in this competition and is open to the following media: relief, pottery, sculpture, installation, kinetic, and conceptual 3-D artworks created in metal, paper, wood, stone, fiber, plastics, glass, ceramics, or any other material which can be used to create 3-dimensional art.
  • As this is exclusively an online exhibition there are no size limitations on the artwork submitted.

Awards

  • Artists will receive a digital award certificate, event announcement and copy of the press release for their art portfolio.
  • A video of the group exhibition will be created and available on the exhibition webpage and Fusion Art's YouTube channel.
  • The artists will be promoted on the website, in online press releases to more than 70+ outlets, in online event calendars, art news websites and through the gallery’s social media outlets.
  • Links to the artist's website will be listed on the exhibition page and should result in increased traffic to the artist's website.
  • Fusion Art's objective is to promote the artists, worldwide, to art professionals, gallerists, collectors and buyers.
  • All inquiries from potential buyers will be directed to the artist for negotiation. Fusion Art does not take a commission on any sale that results from the online exhibition.

Fusion Art invites submissions for its first annual Colors online juried art exhibition for the month of March 2017. 

For this open theme competition artists and photographers are encouraged to share their artistic vision using a concentration of color. One color or a multitude of colors meets the criteria for this competition. The artwork can range from realism to surrealism to abstraction and can be any subject matter and any of the accepted media. All artists and photographers, regardless of location or experience, are encouraged to submit their best representational or non-representational art and photography.

All competitions include awards in two categories - "Traditional" Art and " Photography & Digital" Art and the Best in Show winners in each category will be invited to participate in the 2nd annual group show in Palm Springs in November 2017.

Dates and Deadlines (all deadlines are Pacific Standard Time)

  • Call for Artists Announced: January 14, 2017
  • Deadline for Entries:  February 25, 2017
  • Opening of Online Exhibition:  March 1, 2017

  • Size limitation for artwork is 48" x 60" x 3".  (Other sizes will be considered upon request)
  • 3-dimensional art is not an acceptable medium for this competition.

Fusion Art invites submissions for its 2nd Annual Waterscapes online juried art exhibition for the month of April 2017. 

For this competition artists and photographers are encouraged to share their artistic vision and interpretation of Waterscapes. The theme includes any art or photography which depicts any type of body of water including the ocean, lakes, rivers, ponds, streams, etc. The theme includes coastal living, any ocean activities, seaside vistas, beaches, and any related seashore or lakeside subjects. It can also include rain, puddles and frozen waterscapes. The artwork can range from realism to surrealism to abstraction and can be any subject matter and any of the accepted media. All artists and photographers, regardless of location or experience, are encouraged to submit their best waterscapes art and photography.

All competitions include awards in two categories - "Traditional" Art and " Photography & Digital" Art and the Best in Show winners in each category will be invited to participate in the 2nd annual group show in Palm Springs in November 2017.
